Where you’ll fit in
As a Sales & Experience Associate based in Austin, TX, you will play a key role in growing Clayton & Crume’s local presence, wholesale business, and corporate sales opportunities in the market. This position is responsible for developing new relationships, managing client opportunities, supporting local activations, and using the Austin store as a home base for in-person meetings and brand experiences.
This role is about getting into the community, building long-term relationships, creating local momentum, and helping clients find the right product solutions. You will work across corporate gifting, wholesale accounts, events, activations, and strategic partnerships.
With the Austin store, bar, and coffee shop as your home base, you will have a unique opportunity to bring clients into the Clayton & Crume experience while building a strong sales territory throughout the city. Dallas and Houston will be secondary territories for this role.
To be successful, you must be a self-starter, possess strong interpersonal skills, and demonstrate effective sales and follow-up habits. It is essential to maintain a client-first attitude, going above and beyond to ensure both customer and client satisfaction.
You must thrive in a fast-paced environment that values creativity, collaboration, accountability, and a strong work ethic. The ability to prioritize projects, manage multiple accounts, communicate clearly, and stick to deadlines while maintaining a high level of professionalism is essential.
What you’ll be responsible for

Developing and growing a book of wholesale and corporate sales accounts through consistent outreach, follow-up, and relationship management

Prospecting new business through email, phone calls, LinkedIn, trade show lists, referrals, past clients, product drops, in-person meetings, and local networking

Building strong relationships with our corporate clients, both past and future.

Owning and growing your Austin, Dallas, and Houstin sales territory through consistent in-person outreach and relationship-building

Planning and executing regular product drops throughout your markets

Setting in-person meetings with prospective clients, partners, and key community contacts

Hosting clients and prospects at the Austin store, bar, and coffee shop to create a strong brand experience

Attending local networking events, community events, and relevant business gatherings

Using strong discovery skills to understand client goals, timing, budget, audience, and product needs

Creating thoughtful product recommendations, quotes, and proposals that align with client needs

Managing the sales process from first outreach through close, handoff, production coordination, and post-sale follow-up

Maintaining accurate pipeline notes, next steps, follow-ups, close dates, and account details in the team’s operating system

Coming prepared to weekly meetings and 1:1s with the Sales Team Director

Working cross-functionally with operations, production, logistics, creative, marketing, and finance to ensure orders are accurate, on time, and well-executed

Supporting activations, shows, events, and client-facing opportunities when needed

Helping identify new industries, accounts, events, and opportunities that fit the Clayton & Crume brand

Partnering with the Austin retail team to create a strong connection between local sales efforts and the store experience

Following internal processes for product setup, order details, approvals, payment, inventory allocation, and client communication

Representing Clayton & Crume with professionalism, urgency, taste, and a relationship-first mindset

Complete weekly product drops to targeted local businesses and prospective partners

Set a consistent number of qualified in-person meetings each month

Host prospective clients, partners, or community contacts at the Austin store on a regular basis

Attend local networking or community events each month

Maintain an active pipeline of Austin, Dallas, and Houstin-based prospects and opportunities

Log all outreach, product drops, meetings, follow-ups, and next steps in the sales operating system

Work with the Austin retail team to identify local customers, companies, and partners who could become larger brand relationships
